Creatives for Climate Aotearoa: Connect Globally, Act Locally

Join us for this Auckland Climate Festival event to reflect on global insights from the creative climate action movement and explore how Tāmaki Makaurau can step up in this movement to use creativity for good.

The global creative climate action movement is building, with storytellers everywhere looking for new ways to use their creativity for good.

The role that creativity can play in addressing the climate and ecological emergency is becoming more clear as pressure groups globally within the creative industries are paving the way for policy change.

As initiatives and actions expand on the global stage, global network Creatives for Climate, born in Amsterdam and led by global kiwi Lucy von Sturmer, will share insights and actions taking place on the global stage, and partner with Circularity’s The Redesign of Everything to hold space to explore how creatives in Tāmaki Makaurau and Aotearoa can participate in this global movement.

THE Programme

Creatives for Climate will share their global action programme and the history of the movement starting with Extinction Rebellion's actions in The United Kingdom in 2019 and feature Australian industry group Comms Declare who will share their learnings from ‘across the ditch.’

Circularity will then open the discussion and invite local creatives to take part in this kōrero — to share what action is already taking place in Aotearoa, to explore the opportunities of connecting the dots both locally and globally—and to ask—what more could be done to drive meaningful change?

Future ancestors both here and further afield… this is your rallying cry to use creativity for the planet, not for profit.
